The Creative Audio Review
Note: The Cambridge Audio MXN10 is essentially their AXN10 stuffed into a smaller enclosure. For that reason, we are reprinting our AXN10 review below, changing the model numbers, as the two sound nearly identical to our ears.
In our opinion, far too many people rely on their phone or Apple TV for streaming their music. Your system is only as good as its weakest link, and it all starts at the source. With the Cambridge Audio MXN10 you can ditch those awful sources and give yourself the quality you deserve. The MXN10 is easy to set up, whether you have a wired internet connection or use WiFi (there is no sonic penalty for using WiFi). Once you’ve got it up and running, we promise you will be cycling through your playlists to hear what your music really sounds like. We love the MXN10 because it proves that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get amazing sound. Compared to basic streaming sources, what the MXN10 will offer you is dimension; you didn’t hear it before but your favourite songs actually have depth (literally), and with the MXN10 you will hear the space between the instruments. Switch back to using your phone and everything will fall flat. What the Cambridge Audio MXN10 does is give your music life. Stepping up to its bigger siblings, the CXN100 or EXN100, will unveil even more fine detail and nuance, as well as a larger and more authoritative sound, but for the price the MXN10 cannot be faulted.
Creative Audio Pro Tips
The Cambridge Audio MXN10 will sound great right out of the box, but it will sound even better after 50-75 hours of use.
You will get the best performance out of the Cambridge Audio MXN10 by connecting it with suitable high-performance audio cables to your amplifier. We would be happy to offer advice based on the context of your system
