High-grade Materials

Befitting its premium sound quality from the aluminium/magnesium M-shaped Focal driver, the Bathys combines high-grade materials for comfort and performance. Refined real leather and microfibre in the headband allow for long listening sessions. Aluminium and magnesium in the casing are durable and lightweight - essential for portability.

Demo Track: ‘Even in my Dreams’ by Afro Celt Sound System. Okay, first let’s answer the question on everyone’s mind: how do you say ‘Bathys’? bah-TEECE. There, now we can move on. We were fortunate enough to be given a set of Focal Bathys a month before their release. Given that one of the most asked for products in our showroom has been a set of truly high fidelity wireless headphones, we were excited. The highest praise we can offer is that never were we conscious of the fact that we were listening to a wireless headphone, even with noise cancelling turned on. Speaking of which, we love the two levels of noise cancelling available: ‘soft’ is great for when you just want to gently mute your surroundings, while ‘silent’ is our go-to for the plane and of course you can turn it off completely if you wish. Whichever mode you use, this track is great to show off just how much detail is always on tap with these headphones. The Focal Bathys never loses track of all the various layers but more importantly it never loses the thread of the rhythm. This is where most wireless headphones trip up: they miss the music. And the music is what it’s all about. It was a truly tall order building a hi-fi wireless headphone, but as usual Focal has not disappointed.
