A slim profile speaker designed for wall mounting and featuring two 4” flax midbass drivers and one 1” aluminum/magnesium tweeter. While ideally suited to home theater applications when used for the front LCR (left, centre, right) channels, this speaker can also be used for stereo music applications.

Technology

Aluminum/magnesium inverted dome tweeter

The inverted dome tweeter shape is a trademark of all Focal speakers, chosen for its wide dispersion and micro dynamic capabilities thanks to its lightweight, small-diameter coil. In the 300 series, Focal uses an alloy of aluminum and magnesium for the tweeter membrane. Aluminum is used for its light weight and rigidity, and magnesium is added for damping. Combined with the Poron surround, taken from their flagship Beryllium tweeter designs, the end result is a tweeter with greater extension, more detail, and less harshness. Put simply: it sounds better!

Flax fibre cone

The ideal membrane for a speaker driver is one that is light (so it can move fast and resolve fine dynamic detail), rigid (to be able to deliver deep and controlled bass), and damped (to minimize unwanted resonances). Focal’s 300 series uses driver membranes made from French flax fibres sandwiched between two thin sheets of glass fibre. This composite structure allows Focal to elevate the performance of their speakers to an entirely new level.

This speaker is recommended for screen sizes up to 60”.
This speaker will sound great right out of the box, but after 50-100 hours of use it will be fully broken in and sound even better.
