In Greater Detail
We have several of Focal’s higher-end models in our showroom, such as the Kanta No. 2 and the stunning Sopra No. 2. Every day visitors are stunned by what they hear and we’ve even seen a client moved to tears by the sound (seriously). The Theva No. 1 is Focal’s entry-level speaker; this is where the Focal magic starts. Believe it or not, we get just as excited when we hear these speakers as we do when we listen to the luxurious Sopra model. Seriously! Why? Because while they don’t sound anything like the Sopras (obviously), you can hear the lineage, the essence of the Focal sound. What does that mean? It means your ears will be treated to a wonderfully detailed top-end that lets you hear fine details but never becomes bright or harsh. This is a good thing, because it means you’ll be able to listen for hours on end without fatigue. The bass is typical Focal - agile and controlled, with surprising depth for a bookshelf speaker. Most important, however, is the midrange. This is where most of the music is to be found, in the vocals and percussion and the only way we can describe the midrange of the Theva No. 1 is to say it sounds ‘right’. Voices are real, with no sense of artifice. All of it comes together in a wonderfully engaging sound. This speaker will put a smile on your face.
Sound Advice
The Focal Theva No. 1 will sound great right out of the box, but it will sound better after 50 - 100 hours of use.
For best results, we recommend a minimum of 12” of distance from the back wall to the back of the speaker.
For best performance, we recommend the matching Focal Theva No. 1 speaker stand.
We recommend high performance speaker cable to get the most out of your system.
