The Grado GS1000x in greater detail

The Statement Series brings the sonic signature of Grado to a completely new level of performance. Echoes of classic Grado retro style can be seen in the larger enclosures. Hewn from real mahogany and ipe wood, the Grado GS1000x is not only beautiful to behold - and hold - but the enclosure also helps it deliver an incredible musical performance.

Grado’s fourth-generation 50mm driver is fed by a 12-conductor cable. This driver is the latest evolution in Grado’s signature sound: neutral and accurate, with unrelenting detail. In the Statement Series, compared to the Reference Series, you will immediately notice a larger soundstage and greater nuance in both the detail of individual voices and instruments, as well as their positioning. Effortless is the most appropriate word we can think of here; the music just flows with an ease that isn’t apparent in the lower models, as good as they are. The Statement here is to be found in your music, which will sound new again through the Grado GS1000x.

Sound Advice

  • The Grado GS1000x will sound great right out of the box but they will sound even better after around 50 hours of use, a period known as ‘break in’. During this time the suspension of the drivers will relax and the end result is a deeper, more natural bass and smoother high frequency extension.

  • You can plug the GS1000x directly into your phone, tablet, or computer, but with a premium headphone such as this we’d strongly recommend a dedicated headphone amp.
