Demo track: ‘Give Me One Reason’ by Tracy Chapman. This is always a fun amp to demo in our showroom. Compared to other amps in the price range, it looks tiny and spartan. There are just four inputs, all of them analog with no phono input. You do get a remote control. You also get some of the most engaging sound at this price point. Tracy’s beautiful, textured voice is rendered with unnerving clarity, and the rhythmic drive of this song is always kept in clear focus. Have you ever noticed that by the end of this track the tempo has picked up significantly? The Naim NAIT 5si will make that apparent. Don’t let that 60 watt power rating fool you either; these are classic Naim watts and this amp sounds twice as powerful as its rating suggests. An absolute gem and one of our favourites.
