Clean Power

When using the Naim Audio NPX 300, the internal power supply of the component it powers is deactivated, significantly reducing noise which deteriorates the signal within that component. With its massive transformer and six Naim DR (Discrete Regulator) power regulators, the NPX 300 provides a supply of clean, low-noise power which allows the audio component to deliver a significantly improved level of musical performance.

A Naim purchase is an investment. For fifty years, Naim has been building their award-winning audio components by hand in the south of England. Each component on the inside has been handpicked for its performance. The aluminium chassis is brushed, sandblasted, and anodised for a beautiful and durable finish. The integrated heatsinks keep the internal components cool for a long life of service.

Demo track: ‘Figure’ by Vök. The quality of the power supply is critical in the performance of any audio component. Naim has always recognised this, and it is one of the reasons we have always loved their components; you know you will always get an overbuilt power supply in any Naim component. They take this concept a step further, however, with the ability to add a dedicated outboard power supply as a future upgrade. No matter how good the power supply inside a component, it is still generating a lot of noise within that component, noise that serves to mask ultra low-level detail and ultimately limits the resolution on tap. Add the NPX 300 and a new world will open up before your ears. We love this track as a means of showing what the NPX 300 does for the NSC 222 streaming preamp. There are oodles of fine details in the electronic structures of this song. Listen to it on the NSC 222 without the NPX 300 and you’d think it sounds fine…but then add the NPX 300 and boom! A veil is lifted and you feel like you are in space with the performers. The NPX 300 also takes a slight sheen off the top end and we swear there is added texture in the bass, too. The individual effects of the NPX 300 are slight we grant you, but cumulatively they add up to a massive improvement. Take away the NPX 300 and you’ll immediately frown. Put it back! We said earlier this is a great future upgrade, but we think most people will just take it right away once they hear it.
