Precise

A good record player must accurately trace the grooves of your favourite vinyl albums. This requires precision at every turn of the record. The RB110 tonearm on the Rega Planar 1 Plus is hand assembled and features bespoke ultra-low friction bearings and an integrated, automatic bias system. A simplified version of Rega’s famous RB330 tonearm, the RB110 allows the needle to do its job: extract great music from your record collection.

Accurate

The Rega Planar 1 Plus features a 24V synchronous AC motor with a dedicated PCB to reduce noise. The aluminium pulley transfers the motion via Rega’s new EBLT Advanced drive belt to the sub-platter which turns the higher mass phenolic main platter. Each piece of this drive chain ensures that the Rega Planar 1 Plus spins your records at an accurate and steady speed.

In the Rega Planar 1 Plus, Rega has essentially bolted on their superb Fono Mini phono preamplifier to their uber talented Planar 1 turntable. The most common reason to choose the Planar 1 Plus over the regular version: your amplifier has not a ‘Phono’ input. But even if it does, depending on its quality, you may still benefit from the Plus model. The phono preamp is an integral part of the vinyl replay chain, and Rega nailed it in their entry-level model. These pieces really do go together superbly, and this fun track from the 1978 film soundtrack shows you why. Compared to lesser phono stages, the Fono Mini delivers oodles of detail, allowing you parse out even the busiest of tracks. Most importantly, there is a great sense of timing about this setup - we guarantee your toes will be a-tappin’!

Sound Advice

The Rega Planar 1 Plus will sound great right out of the box, but it will sound even better after 25-50 hours of use, when the cartridge has had a chance to break in.
For best results, be sure to place the turntable on a flat and level surface.
Before playing, you should always remove any surface dust from the record using a quality anti-static carbon fibre record brush.
