Vintage Style, Signature Sound

On the outside, the Wharfedale Aston is pure vintage. On the inside, it features the latest technologies in cabinet, driver, and crossover design. The end result is a speaker with timeless looks that delivers a thoroughly modern musical performance. Wrapped in beautiful real-wood walnut veneer, the cabinet is built from multiple layers of different woods with the aim to minimize any unwanted resonances. This speaker was not designed for the masses but rather for the passionate. The goal was to create a signature speaker for a select few: only 500 pairs will be made for the whole world.

Smooth and Detailed

A new soft-dome tweeter was developed specifically to pair with the Aston’s carbon fibre mid/bass driver. Advanced driver design is paired with a carefully chosen crossover for a seamless blend from highs to mids, to deliver Wharfedale’s signature sound: intricately detailed but delicate and smooth. It’s a performance you’ll be able to listen to for hours on end.

Commanding and Lifelike

The carbon fibre mid/bass driver was designed specifically for the Aston to deliver an astonishing level of impact for such a compact speaker. The multi-layer cabinet, with its reduced resonances, allows the midrange to deliver vocals and percussion with lifelike clarity. The rigid, die-cast chassis minimizes losses from the powerful motor system allowing the Aston to offer bass depth with incredible speed and accuracy.

Creative Audio Pro Tips

  • The Wharfedale Aston will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 100 hours of use.

  • Experiment with placement in relation to the back wall. Placing the speaker closer to this wall will emphasise the bass but could also lead to a congested mid-range. Find the position that strikes the right balance for you and your room. A distance of 12-24” will probably be ideal.

  • We always recommend a quality speaker cable to connect your speakers.
