The SR225x represents the best that Grado offers in their plastic enclosure designs. An improved cushion design and tighter driver tolerances combine to deliver a headphone with noticeably improved resolution over the SR125x.

Improved bass - both in depth and control - is one of the first things you’ll notice on this headphone. Hi-fi is about detail and there is a ton of it here as well. Like all Grado models, the magic is in the mid range and this model offers a greater sense of presence and accuracy in this important frequency range. Our one word review for this model? Presence. You will hear fine details that allow you to more accurately picture the space the music is in, the make and model of the instruments, even the colour of the singer’s eyes…okay, maybe we went a bit far there. Sound Advice

• The Grado SR225x will sound great right out of the box but they will sound even better after around 50 hours of use, a period known as ‘break in’. During this time the suspension of the drivers will relax and the end result is a deeper, more natural bass and smoother high frequency extension.

• You can plug the SR225x directly into your phone, tablet, or computer, but you’ll get an even better experience with a dedicated headphone amp.
